A shout of kudos to several many most of the dad bloggers that I read. You guys (and you know who you are) have been included in the core group of dad blogs listed at Alltop. A little bit of press is never a bad thing. OK, wait. Maybe a little bit of GOOD PRESS is never a bad thing. That being said, I seem to have been left off of the list. I know. I’m sure it was an oversight. Anyway, as per their FAQ page, I composed an e-mail informing them of their egregious error and feel that the situation will be rectified in short manner.
For those interested, here is the letter:
To the Powers that Be at Alltop:
As per the instructions on your FAQ page, I am sending you an electronic mail transmission that would indicate a desire to have my blog, http://zoesdad.com, moved just a tad bit higher on page that lists Dad Blogs. Currently, I am located somewhere below the blog that appears at the very bottom of the page. Yeah, that’s right. I’m not there! Now, I know that the omission of my blog in your listings can only be described as oversight, an honest mistake. I am sure that no intentional neglect or snubbing has occurred here. I understand this. I accept this. Typically, I fly pretty low. Under the radar or off of it completely much like the Stealth Bomber.
But the fact of the matter is, I’ve got tens of readers who appreciate being able to cross reference me in all manner of listings and networking situations. It’s for them, really, that I make this request. Do it for them.
Thanking you in advance,
Ed
Be careful what you wish for…..
Zoe’s Dad
I apparently didn’t make the cut either. I don’t know if I’m going to bother writing. I shall just wallow in self pity before finally accepting it.
I think the blogs on there were suggested by people they contacted or via the request form. I requested to have my blog and DadCentric added before there was even a dad category and they thanked me and put them both on the list. That and a fifty will get you anywhere.
I’m not there either. I guess I must be on the page marked “best blogs in the world ever”. I can’t seem to find that page though, maybe there is a problem with their site or something.
Haha – you got me with that “tens of readers”! But more seriously, should we start a letter writing campain – you should defiitely be close to the top!
Psss… don’t forget Rockin’ With Frigga
I don’t mind being on the bottom.
I know man, always a bridesmaid—or something like that.
Would you mind spotting me?
I think I saw the link to that page but I couldn’t get it to work. Well, at least you know it’s there.
I wasn’t added to those reindeer games either, but I’m not mad at them. I’ve been a bad blogger over the past few weeks, I’ve actually been hanging out with the family and forgetting about the keyboard for a while.
Oh, woe is me.
I refuse to write. If they don’t see fit to include Annoyingly Boring then I’ll just sit in the corner and sulk!
It’s always nice to take a break.
Normally, I wouldn’t have either. Sometimes the mood just hits me right though.
Hey! I just clicked over from Alltop to here. Congrats – it was an oversight! -Jeremy @ Discovering Dad
Wow, so there are people who read and respond to a well written letter of persuasion.
