The Only Difference Between a Rut and a Grave…
is their dimensions. (Ellen Glasgow)
They say change is good, that the new keeps things interesting. Exciting. I abhor change, yet I am inexplicably drawn to it like a moth is to the flame. I know that every time I rearrange the living room furniture my wife will moan and groan, lamenting the fact that her comfortable world order has been turned topsy-turvy once again. But I can’t help it. There are seasons where the couch just looks better on the other side of the room, or the side table needs to be on the other side.
(Don’t worry, honey. I’m not going to rearrange the furniture. Again.)
Zoë’s Dad has been a labor of love for almost 3 years. But lately, I’ve just felt the need for something a bit different. Change. I’m not really sure I can pinpoint the whys.
Do I have to?
Should I?
I’m always a bit conflicted when a blogger begins to explain the what-nots and why-comes about meaningless minutiae in their own blogs.
Dude, it’s your blog. I don’t need to know why you prefer comic sans ms over verdana or why your sidebar is on the right side of the page as opposed to the left. Just give me what I came for.
In the history of exit lines there have been many great ones. Tearful goodbyes or riveting, motivating speeches urging those that remain to continue on. But the words I keep hearing over and over in my head are those of John Madden when asked about his retirement from broadcasting after 30 years. “It’s time.”
And so I shall. Continue. Writing. With a fresh pair of underwear. Welcome to my new skivvies.
Just because everything is different doesn’t mean anything has changed. Irene Peter

Consider my reader updated. No need to explain, I, for one, am just glad all you needed was a change of underwear to keep going.
Rock on Ed, rock on!
It’s amazing what a fresh pair of unmentionables can do for the psyche.
As always, thanks for your support.
Subscribed to the new and improved!
Thanks for the subtle hint to the correct pronounciation/spelling…

I’ve been saying your name wrong the past few years.
Jared´s last blog ..DadThing Is Healthy Again!
No worries, Jared. I’ve been telling people Little m Long a for as long as I can remember. It only seemed appropriate when I decided to change things up.
Thanks for following me.
Pfft! Change of blog, change the furniture around ?
We change rooms around in this house when the winter comes along (like now for instance), the front room in the house loses heat faster than a very hot thing losing heat very quickly, its the wind, the wind on top of this hill we live on started this weekend and won’t stop now until next April, its bloody freezing.
Its getting close, those words I dread, “Its time to change the rooms around”
Gary´s last blog ..50 years today
Your front room sounds exactly like every room in our house. Except for the basement in front of the boiler. Yes, boiler. It’s a monstrous steam creating thing roughly the size of a Buick. It’s very warm in that room.
Ooooh nice and green.
I’m going to miss Mr Comic Sans, but I’m just happy to have you around still.
Quite frankly, I shall miss it, too. I came very close to keeping it but in the true spirit of change I opted for something a bit different–Bookman Old Style I think it’s called.
Well, at least the font talk was relegated to the comments. Reader updated.
Thanks for continuing to follow me–I’ll try not to bore with talk of fonts.
Hi Ed!
Yay! Glad to see you are back. I was missing your writing already. Very nice, clean and crisp new diggs you have here – love it!
I will update my link ASAP.
Maureen´s last blog ..The Scariest Part of Halloween
Thanks. I tend to move from extremes but I’m really partial to minimal right now. Glad you like the look.
New digs…Nice! I like it!!
Jenny´s last blog ..And So I Return…
Thank you very much–and it’s nice to see you’ve jumped back into the madness.
I like the look! I can tell you from personal experience that changing your blog’s url is a great way to lose readers. I think some people are just to lazy to make the change.
I kind of figured that going into it but hey, maybe it will make me work a bit harder to get them back.
Or not!
hey looky here. I had no idea.
Also put me in the camp that had no idea on the long A. I feel silly now.
PG´s last blog ..Structures (274 & 275/365 v2.0)
It’s quite all right. I’m fairly certain I’ve mispronounced Pat for some time, too.
