I finally took all of the lights off of the Christmas tree.  The decorations have been off and put away since the 1rst–I’m not a total slacker.  But today was the tree. I had to cut the majority of the lower branches just so I could get the dang thing out of the house.

OK.  Full disclosure here.  It’s not out of the house yet.  In fact the room looks pretty much just like it did in the picture and it’s now 11:30 pm.  But at least the lights are off.  All 8000 of them.

That’s right, I put 80 strands of lights on our Christmas tree this year.

Because I’m an idiot!

Now that is one dead tree. It’s not even pining for the fjords!

I feel a little bit sad for it.

      Just a little.

    Wow. That is so sad.
And how does a person manage to get 80 strings of lights on a tree that size? Did I miss the pics of all those lights, or did you neglect to post one? Because I’d sure like to see a “before” and “after” of that sad tree!

The last time I butchered a Christmas tree like that in my living room, the carpet was forever sticky with sap. I never could get it all out after that.

Best of luck in finishing off the job!

It was painstaking, arduous and I would have rather been having a root canal than stringing those freaking lights! I hate every minute of it. I never posted a picture of it because I couldn’t get a good one.
Here’s the link to the one photo I uploaded:

And I didn’t have to worry about sap. The place where we got our tree neglected to give us a fresh cut and the poor thing never drank water. It was completely dry!
