I am always a little brighter when I happen upon a spot like that , you probably made someone’s day. Even if you did take a picture of it!
I used to put money in expired meters for people as I was walking down the street but a parking meter reader threatened to write me a ticket for it. Apparently, it’s illegal to plug someone else’s meter, likely because the city loses on ticket income. Who knew?

The last time I sent my wife to put money in a parking meter she paid twice – the meter was limited to just one hour, it said so in big letters, “Parking limited to one hour” it said, which I thought was fairly clear – but she put double the amount required in the hope that she’d get two hours – she didn’t because parking was limited to one hour (remember how I mentioned that int he same sentence ?)

And then she got annoyed at me when I pointed it out to her.
